Boarding Deposit and Cancellation Policy

Sturgeon County Kennels often reaches full capacity. To keep bookings organized and make sure every guest has a reserved spot, we require a deposit for overnight stays.

Deposit requirement for overnight stays

  • Deposit amount: A 50% deposit of the total cost of the initial reservation is required for all overnight stays (to a maximum of $200).

  • Deposit deadline: The deposit must be received within 72 hours of your booking confirmation.

  • If the deposit is not received: The tentative hold will be released and the booking will be canceled.

What to expect when making your first booking request

Here is how the booking process works:

  1. Booking request: You submit a booking request.

  2. Tentative hold or waitlist:

    • If space is available, we place a tentative hold on your requested dates.

    • If we are full, your request is added to our waitlist.

  3. Staff review: A team member reviews the request.

  4. Welcome email: We send you a welcome email.

  5. Deposit request: We send a deposit request email with a payment link.

  6. Booking confirmation: Once the deposit is received within 72 hours, your booking is confirmed.

Cancellation and refund policy

  • Fully refundable deposit: Deposits are fully refundable if you cancel at least 2 weeks before your scheduled check in date.

  • Late cancellations and no shows: If you cancel less than 2 weeks before check in, or you do not show up, the deposit is forfeited.

  • Credit for forfeited deposits: Forfeited deposits may be credited toward a future booking if used within 6 months of the original booking date.

Payment balance

The remaining balance for the stay is due at pick up.

Timing and business hours

  • Cancellation requests received outside of business hours are considered received on the next business day.

Payment methods

We accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. Payment links are emailed for convenience, and you will receive a confirmation email once payment has been processed.
