Dog Daycare

Play hard, rest well, go home tired.

Daycare at Sturgeon County Kennels

A Familiar Place to Be

Daycare happens in the same calm space dogs already know from boarding.

We don’t separate it - the same great team, same cozy setup.

Time With Other Dogs

Dogs spend the day with others, interacting naturally and at their own pace.

Nothing forced, just easy company for dogs that enjoy being around others.

Play, Chill, Repeat

Daycare isn’t nonstop action. Dogs can nap, sprawl, or chill when they want.

Some dogs go full zoomie. Others just vibe.

Easygoing by Design

We keep the day relaxed so dogs can settle in and feel comfortable.

No pressure, no chaos, just a steady rhythm that works.

How Daycare Works

  • Step 1: Get Set Up for Daycare

Before your first daycare visit, we’ll get your dog set up in our system.

This includes up-to-date vaccines, completed paperwork, and any notes we should know about your dog’s routine.

Daycare takes place in the same space dogs use for boarding, so many dogs are already comfortable here.

  • Step 2: Submit a Booking Request

Once your dog is set up in our system, daycare bookings are made online through our booking portal.

Many clients use daycare regularly, and booking days as needed is simple.

  • Step 3: Drop Off for the Day

Most dogs don’t need anything special for daycare.

If your dog requires medication or specific food, just let us know ahead of time.

Drop-off happens during regular business hours.

  • Step 4: Play, Rest, Head Home

Dogs spend the day moving between play, social time, and rest.

    Pick-up happens during regular hours.

A Day in Daycare

What a Day at Daycare Looks Like

Every daycare day includes a natural mix of social time, movement, and rest, shaped by the dogs in our care.

Daycare takes place in the same familiar space as boarding, following the same calm routines and easygoing approach, just during the day.

Some dogs spend the day playing with friends. Others prefer quieter time. Most do a bit of both.

Drop-offs, yard time, and settling the group.

Dogs start rolling in and we get them checked in, notes read, and belongings put away. Regular daycare dogs usually spot their friends right away. New dogs get a slower intro and a bit of space to figure things out.

Once everyone’s in, we start rotating groups into the yards. Some dogs are ready to sprint. Some just want to sniff the fence line. We match by energy and temperament so play feels good, not frantic.

Play. Rest. Repeat.

Midday is when daycare really hums. Groups go in and out of the yards for structured play and potty breaks, then back inside for water and rest. Nobody is outside for hours on end with no break, and nobody is parked in a kennel all day either.

If you send food, we do mid-day feeds for the dogs that need it. In the quieter moments, staff hang out with them in suites or in the yard. We keep an eye on body language, energy level, and who needs a nap instead of one more lap.

Last play, cool down, then home tired.

As pick-up time gets closer, we keep things a bit calmer. Dogs still get out for final breaks and light play, but the goal is to send them home relaxed, not wired. Waters are topped, belongings are packed up, and we do another round of cleaning.

By the time you arrive, most daycare dogs are exactly how you want them: happy, a little tired, and ready to crash on the couch when they get home.

Most dogs don’t need anything special for daycare. Just bring your dog on a leash.

If your dog requires medication or specific food during the day, let us know ahead of time and bring it clearly labeled.

Yes. Before attending daycare, your dog needs to be set up in our system with completed paperwork and up-to-date vaccinations on file.

Once that’s done, booking daycare is quick and easy.

Not necessarily. Daycare includes a mix of social time, outdoor time, and rest.

Some dogs are very active, while others prefer a calmer day. We allow dogs to interact naturally and take breaks as needed.

Daycare is social, but it’s not forced group play. Dogs interact at their own pace, and we don’t require dogs to play if they’d rather relax or observe.

Rabies, DHLPP, and Bordetella are required. DHLPP may be listed under different names, but protection against parvovirus and distemper are they key requirements. If you’re unsure, we’re happy to help review your records.
