Quick Policy Overview
Vaccine Policy
To protect the health and safety of all pets in our care, we require that all dogs and cats have up-to-date vaccines at the time of drop-off. A copy of vaccine records is required. Please bring these with you or have your vet email them ahead of time.
Timing Matters
Please ensure that all vaccines are administered at least 10 days prior to arrival. This gives your pet’s immune system time to respond effectively. Pets vaccinated less than 10 days before drop-off will not be accepted.
Puppies and Kittens
Young pets must have completed their full series of core vaccines and all necessary booster shots before boarding. We cannot accept puppies or kittens who are mid-way through their vaccination schedule. If you're unsure whether your pet is fully vaccinated, contact your vet before booking.
Required Vaccines for Dogs
- Rabies
- DA2PP / DHPP / DHLPP (Distemper, Adenovirus, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus ± Leptospirosis)
- Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
Required Vaccines for Cats
- Rabies
- FVRCP (Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia)
Health Policy
To keep everyone safe and healthy, we require that all pets in our care are in good health and free from any communicable conditions at the time of drop-off.
We cannot accept pets who are actively sick or recovering from contagious illnesses.
This includes (but is not limited to):
- Fleas or ticks
- Kennel cough (Bordetella)
- Parasites (e.g., Giardia, Coccidia)
About Bordetella
Bordetella (commonly called kennel cough) is similar to the human flu. It's airborne, contagious, and can spread quickly in communal settings. While the Bordetella vaccine is required, no vaccine protects against all strains.
If your pet is coughing or showing symptoms (white phlegm), please do not bring them, even if they’re vaccinated.
What to Do If You're Unsure
If your pet has recently been sick, injured, or is recovering from a medical issue, please call or email us before your reservation. We'll help determine if boarding or daycare is appropriate at that time.
Temperament Policy
Not every dog is a good fit for a kennel environment - and that’s okay.
We do our best to accommodate dogs of all temperaments, including those who are shy or nervous. But we draw the line at aggression. If your dog has a history of biting, lunging, or cannot be safely handled by our team, we cannot board them.
This policy exists for everyone's safety
Our top priority is keeping our staff and our other guests safe. If your dog is likely to snap at a stranger, explode in a confined space, or try to aggressively bust out of their kennel, they’re not a candidate for boarding at this time.
Examples of dogs we cannot accept
- Dogs who have bitten a person or another pet
- Dogs who are extremely reactive to touch or confinement
- Dogs with a bite risk rating from a vet or trainer
- Dogs with known destruction or escape issues
We’re always open to a conversation
If you’re unsure whether your dog qualifies, just give us a call. We’ll be honest and helpful. But if your dog is large, fast, unpredictable, and capable of doing serious damage, please don’t put our team or your pet in that position.
Escape Artists & Diggers
Some dogs are natural climbers or enthusiastic diggers, and while most pets settle into their kennel just fine, others see a fence as a fun challenge. If your dog has a history of scaling barriers, digging under fences, or slipping latches, it’s important that we know in advance.
We’ve invested in secure fencing and thoughtful kennel design, and we take great care with each guest. If we know a dog might try to test the limits, we can often take extra precautions to keep them safe and contained. Just let us know ahead of time. The more we understand about your pet, the better we can keep them safe and sound.
Food & Medications Policy
We’re happy to feed your pet according to their usual routine, whether that’s kibble, raw, frozen, canned, or a custom mix. We know how important consistency is for digestion and comfort, especially in a new environment.
Bringing Your Own Food
Please bring enough food to cover your pet’s entire stay. You’re welcome to portion it out ahead of time or bring it in bulk, whichever is easier for you.
We have ample freezer and fridge space to safely store raw, frozen, or refrigerated meals, and we’re used to handling a wide variety of feeding routines.
Medications & Supplements
We’re happy to administer oral medications, supplements, and most topicals at no additional charge.
Here’s what we need:
- All meds must come in their original containers, with clear written instructions.
- We do not administer injectable medications (e.g. insulin).
- If your dog has complex or time-sensitive needs, give us a quick call ahead of time so we can confirm it’s a fit.
The more we know about your pet’s routine, the better we can support it.
